Project Detail

EQM has executed over 1400 large-scale emergency and rapid response, incident, and natural disaster task orders. We have executed many contracts with the USEPA and USACE, and work has included rapid responses to fires, typhoon and hurricane disasters, floods, and catastrophic events.

This type of work can be extremely complex and dangerous, making the protection of the environment and human health the top priorities of the EQM team. Contamination at disaster sites can include:

Hazardous Household Waste (HHW) & Asbestos

PCB Sediments

Heavy Metals & Radiological Contamination

Complicated Waste Streams & Hazardous Waste

EQM was asked to provide emergency and rapid response to the Sonoma County Fire, a wildfire that ravaged the California county. Within 24 hours, EQM had deployed 20 work crews to support the USEPA’s response to 245,000 acres of wildfire destruction.

Additional services provided included:

HHW materials collection & ACM removal from 5,500 burned properties.

Management of 150+ on-site field personnel.

Collection of 1,000+ personal/perimeter air samples for PLM/TEM asbestos.

Site surveys & characterizations for HTRW, chemical, radiological, ACM, and HHW.

EQM is a long-time trusted partner to the USEPA and USACE, and still today we continue to hold numerous contracts for Emergency & Rapid Response Services.
