Project Detail

A city in Butler County, Ohio was seeking reliable environmental compliance support for their Municipal Power Plant to ensure continual compliance with all applicable environmental regulations. Multimedia compliance activities included:

Routine Air Permitting (Title V)

Wastewater Permit Monitoring (NPDES)

Record-keeping & Reporting

Tracking/Implementation of ICI Boiler MACT, Utility MACT, Coal Combustion Residuals, Transport Rule, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Mandatory Reporting, & Effluent Guidelines for Steam Electric Power Generators

Twelve years later, EQM continues to provide the city with the necessary onsite environmental support personnel to fully assess the multimedia environmental needs for the Power Plant. The project initially began by conducting a gap analysis to review all existing environmental permits and programs and develop the necessary tracking tools to ensure that all conditions of their permits were properly implemented.

EQM staffed the Power Plant with onsite environmental support to conduct the gap analysis, and set up tracking calendars for required permit monitoring, recordkeeping and reporting. EQM advised on regulatory programs applicable to the Utility sector and provided multimedia expertise to comply with various applicable rules, including:

Stack Testing (RATA, Boiler MACT)

Engineering Evaluation of Pollution Control & Operating Systems

Development of GHG Monitoring Plans

City-Wide RICE Compliance Assistance

EQM’s ongoing assistance with the environmental compliance requirements for the Power Plant enables them to maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory programs.
