Representative Projects:

Major Aluminum Manufacturer

EQM has performed Phase I Environmental Business Divestiture Assessments (EBDAs) for a major aluminum manufacturer with facilities located throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia. As part of this project, we documented reasonable ascertainable information that indicated the presence or likely presence of recognized environmental conditions at the facilities as defined by the latest ASTM International designation - Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process (E 1527-05). Each EBDA was completed by an Environmental Professional (EP) as defined in the ASTM standard. Based on the site history and location of the designated facilities, we evaluated the surrounding and adjoining properties to the extent practically reviewable, as well as the business environmental risk associated with the potential property divestiture.

Major Manufacturer

EPCRA Compliance
Assisted a Fortune 500 company with EPCRA compliance for the past 10 years at all of their sites. Assisted with SARA Title III Section 312 compliance by performing walkthroughs of each site, determining what chemicals were reportable, completing the 312 forms for submittal, and preparing documentation of the compliance efforts. Assisted with SARA Title III Section 313 compliance by performing threshold evaluations, determining release quantities to each environmental media, preparing submittals for reportable chemicals, and documenting all threshold and calculations in a report.

FurnaceAir Compliance Support
Provided support to comply with air regulations for more than 10 years for all of the facility’s current and closed sites. Performed and updated air emission inventories which involved a walk-through of each facility, estimating emissions, determining the permit applicability of each source, and preparing a report. Also performed stack tests on scrubbers controlling chemical cleaning lines.

SPCC and Stormwater Support
Wrote and updated Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure plans and Stormwater Pollution Prevention plans for all company sites. Also designed containment dikes to contain spills that may occur during loading/unloading operations in order to comply with SPCC regulations.

Stormwater Support
Assisted the company with compliance with stormwater regulations. Assistance included keeping the stormwater plan current and assisting with annual compliance evaluations by inspecting sources of possible stormwater contamination and preparing the compliance evaluation report.

Inventory Update Rule (IUR) Reporting
Prepared the TSCA IUR report. This involved performing the threshold evaluation, preparing the report, and preparing documentation of the reporting process.
